We compare water-vapor absorption models generated with HITRAN Online and HITEMP2010 to measurements with a dual-comb spectrometer. For strong lines up to 1300K, HITRAN Online is a more accurate predictor of strengths, shapes, and positions.
Recent advancements in mobile frequency comb technology and inverse methods are enabling the location and sizing of small methane leaks across large regions.
We assess the potential to resolve line-of-sight gas temperature distributions with single-beam, broadband, dual-comb absorption spectroscopy. The technique shows promise for single-optical-port, spatially-resolved temperature diagnostics for harsh environments.
Near-infrared frequency-comb spectroscopy is a powerful tool with which to measure absorption of CO2, CH4, H2O over turbulent paths such as meter scale paths in active furnaces or 11 km horizontal paths over cities. Work of the U.S. government, not subject to copyright.
We demonstrate wavelength modulation spectroscopy of CO2 at >30 atm using a fast-scanning MEMS laser. The technique shows promise for sensitive measurements of species with broadband absorption features, such as high-pressure gases and large molecules.
Near-infrared frequency-comb spectroscopy is used to measure CO2 absorption over a 2-km outdoor path under well-mixed atmospheric conditions. We compare integrated area, linecenter, and Lorentz widths extracted from Voigt fits to the data with HITRAN. Work of the U.S. government, not subject to copyright.
We discuss the design and performance of an all polarization-maintaining self-referenced frequency comb that can maintain optical coherence with an optical reference laser under strong vibrations from a shaker table and a moving vehicle.
A tunable diode laser (TDL) is used to measure the absorption spectra of the R46 through R54 transitions of the 20012←00001 band of CO2 near 2.0 μm (5000 cm−1) at room temperature and pressures to 10 atm (densities to 9.2 amagat). Spectra are recorded using direct absorption spectroscopy and wavelength modulation spectroscopy with second-harmonic detection (WMS-2f) in a mixture containing 11% CO2...
