In this paper, DWT-Based Multi-Adaptive Image Coding (DBMAIC) is proposed to increase compression performance for Frame Memory Reduction in LCD Overdrive. The DBMAIC development is based on DWT-Based Adaptive Mode Selection (DAMS)[9] integrated with Adaptive-Threshold Technique (ATT). ATT is proposed to reduce blocking effect and increase adaptability of DAMS. Experimental results show that the performance...
In this paper, Advanced Adaptive Image Coding (AAIC) is proposed to increase compression performance for frame delay memory applications. The AAIC contains two techniques to improve the quality of decompressed images. The first is a Mean Adaptive Image Coding (MAIC) to reduce the impact of noise on image compression. The second is a Content-based Bit Exchange Technique (CBBET) to provide an adaptive...
The user interface is the central element of a telepresence robotic system and its visualization modalities greatly affect the operator's situation awareness, and thus its performance. Depending on the task at hand and the operator's preferences, going from ego- and exocentric viewpoints and improving the depth representation can provide better perspectives of the operation environment. Our system,...
A restoration method for S-VHS sequences is proposed in this paper to help to improve their image quality. The solution consists of a cascaded neural network structure using restored luminance signal. The proposed method was tested with various color images and experimental results showed that both subjective and objective image quality were substantially improved.
