In this letter, all possible single transistor RC‐only second‐order allpass filters obtainable from a four impedance common‐source topology are reported. It is shown that there are only seven such filters with only one of them being a minimum component canonical 2R‐2C filter. Two of the found filters are designed and simulated in a 65‐nm CMOS process.
Two solutions of modified controlled gain voltage differencing current conveyor (CG-VDCC) - based inductance simulator are reported in this contribution together with the main performances (electronic control of inductance value and electronic control of value and character of losses). Verifications of all available features are provided by Spice simulator with behavioral models employing commercially...
This paper presents two solutions for an amplitude automatic gain control circuit implemented in a simple secondorder quadrature oscillator based on the non-inverting band-pass filtering response and a block with positive feedback with controllable gain or intentional nonlinearity. The results regarding amplitude stability, total harmonic distortion, available tunability range, time required to obtain...
This paper presents simple electronically reconfigurable and reconnection-less filtering applications based on useful modification of current differencing unit (CDU). Modified CDU improves its controllable features and bring some other advantages. Three examples of first-order filtering structure in voltage- and current-mode were studied and compared. The last presented solution providing all-pass,...
This contribution deals with special first-order filtering structure design based on two operational transconductance amplifiers (OTAs) and single electronically controllable current conveyor of second generation (ECCII). Controllable parameters of OTAs and ECCII allow electronic reconnection-less reconfiguration among several types of transfer functions. Theoretical assumptions are supported by PSpice...
Our contribution deals with combination of controllable current and voltage gain in frame of active element called controlled gain current and differential voltage amplifier (CG-CDVA). Proposed behavioral model was used for construction of very simple and electronically controllable triangle and square wave generator. Simulation results supported theoretical presumptions and confirmed workability.
This paper describes a precision full-wave rectifier of minimal configuration that is able to process both low voltage and low current signals. The behavior of the proposed rectifier is compared with the opamp based circuit by evaluating their DC value transfers and RMS errors. Furthermore, experimental measurements were performed that shown the feasibility of the new circuit to process signal up...
The paper presents new realizations of quadrature sinusoidal oscillators suitable to be used in voltage-mode or current-mode applications. An active device independent topology is proposed and which can be practically implemented using commercially available active elements. Two circuits are exemplified: (i) voltage-mode quadrature oscillator using two current feedback operational amplifier (CFOA),...
This paper deals with the modified current-feedback operational amplifier (MCFOA) that is used in two voltage-mode (VM) frequency filters. Both structures presented employ single active and five passive elements. Circuits enable realizing a low- (LP), band- (BP), and high-pass (HP) filter responses without changing the circuit topology. There is no requirement for additional component or rotation...
This paper deals with the application possibility of the digitally programmable current follower in analogue signal processing. In connection with conventional double- and multiple-output current followers a current-mode low-pass filter is proposed. Using digitally programmable current followers the natural frequency of the proposed filter can be electronically adjusted. The advantage of the proposed...
A new general configuration for realization of trans-admittance-and voltage-mode first-order all-pass filters based on differential-input buffered and transconductance amplifier (DBTA) is presented. The proposed generalized configuration is composed of single DBTA and four passive elements, however, the presented four different cases of all-pass filters, derived from the presented general circuit,...
In this paper we present a new universal current-mode frequency filter using only three dual-output second-generation current conveyors (DO-CCII) and five grounded passive elements. Simultaneously a low-pass, high-pass and band-pass can be realized - all with high output impedance. Using the proposed structure the quality factor Q can be via single passive element changed independently of the natural...
A voltage-mode Kerwin-Huelsman-Newcomb (KHN) filter using DVCCs is presented. The filter has high input impedance and employs four active elements, two grounded capacitors and five grounded resistors. Based on the generalized description of the proposed structure various solutions are presented and compared. Spice simulation results are included to verify and demonstrate the feasibility of the KHN...
In this paper new voltage- and current-mode universal frequency filter topologies employing single modified current-feedback operational amplifier (MCFOA) as active element and five passive elements are presented. The proposed filter structures enable realizing all standard filter functions (low-, band-, high-pass, band-stop, and all-pass filter responses). Moreover, the independent adjustment of...
In the paper a novel current-mode multifunction filter is presented, where changing the characteristic frequency f0 and the quality factor Q0 independently of each other and of other parameters is allowed. The whole design procedure is shown, with the Generalized Current Conveyor (GCC) being used in the initial design and the resultant multifunction filter containing the universal current conveyor...
In this paper the design of filters with a new active element BOTA is shown. A general feedback network was designed around the BOTA element. Step by step simpler autonomous circuits were picked out from this general arrangement, which serve as an initial circuit in designing different types of frequency filters. The selected circuit was subjected to an AC analysis, dynamic optimization, sensitivity...
