A novel resonator structure for lateral-misalignment of wireless power transfer is presented. The proposed resonator is composed of a concentrated coil and several small loop coils. The uniform magnetic field distributions of the proposed resonator are described. The proposed hybrid resonator improves about 30% of the relative efficiency variation for a lateral-misalignment.
Magnetic resonance wireless power link including a non-coaxially aligned repeater resonator has been analyzed and designed for efficient mid-range wireless powering. Parametric study on the power transfer efficiency (PTE) for several meter distance range indoor powering has been made and optimization condition for maximum PTE have been obtained. The results are expected to be utilized for mid-range...
Practical magnetic resonance wireless power transfer (WPT) system is presented. High-efficient power amplifier (PA) and adaptive tracking modules are combined with optimized wireless power links to propose mid-range wireless powering application scenarios in home-environments.
Misalignments between high-Q resonators for mid-range wireless power transfer is analyzed. Implanting a simple filament coil based mutual inductance to the well known power transfer efficiency formula, theoretical predictions have been well agreed with measurement results. Some interesting phenomena regarding the misalignments have been found and analyzed.
Power transfer efficiencies of magnetic resonance wireless power link including a relay resonator that is not aligned with the source and device resonators are reported. Based on the properties of power transfer efficiencies for misalignments of two resonators with no relay, it is possible to explain the peculiar properties in power transfer efficiency for the cases with relay resonator misaligned...
The far-field radiation of a Hertzian dipole for a two-layered gyromagnetic medium has been investigated using the dyadic Green's function. For this purpose, the symmetric property of DGFs has been employed to calculate the dyadic Green's function when an impulse source is placed above the gyromagnetic slab. After obtaining the far-field approximated DGFs, radiation fields are found for a dipole antenna...
This paper describes the theoretical investigation of the distortion of a Gaussian pulse when the pulse propagates in a gyromagnetic medium with an arbitrary direction of an external magnetic field. The phase velocity in this medium is a nonlinear function of frequency and thus causes the dispersion of the spectral components of the pulse. An analysis of dispersion characteristics of a gyromagnetic...
Propagation and radiation of electromagnetic waves in anisotropic media are problems of great interest from both theoretical and practical points of view. For the problems of radiation and scattering from sources embedded in stratified media, one of the most powerful and elegant analyzing tools is the dyadic Green's function (DGF) technique. Many researchers have determined and utilized the DGF for...
