We propose the optical access network design method to draw out the maximum capability. The calculation results show that the proposed design method can reduce the network cost by several ten billion yen, and also show that the transmission capacity can increase by 5 times at maximum.
We propose transmission of multi-carrier satellite video with/without 10 Gbps-Class-PON signal by cascaded modulation scheme. Calculations show performance sufficient to meet the 29 dB loss budget of PON access networks.
We propose and demonstrate a transmission system that retransmits 21 GHz satellite broadcasting signals (21 GHz RF) with 10 G-EPON. Experiments show sufficient performance to satisfy 29 dB loss budget.
We present the first demonstration of multistage wavelength conversion using cascaded SSB modulators. 72 GHz frequency shift is achieved by four stages. Values of relative intensity noise (RIN) and noise figure are examined experimentally and theoretically.
We introduce a multi-channel super high frequency TV signal transmission system that passes a multi-channel TV signal, super-high frequency (SHF), through access fiber to the optical network unit (ONU). In the ONU, the signal is down converted to the intermediate frequency (IF) by a low noise block down converter (LNB). The IF signal is output to the television set. Measured characteristics of two...
We propose a two-step sideband suppression scheme to realize enhanced optical SSB generation. 140 carrier, super wideband (8 GHz to 20 GHz) SCM transmission across 200 km of SMF is demonstrated. The scheme achieves high sideband suppression ratios.
We report a cascaded modulation scheme that uses multiple concatenated external modulators to modulate continuous wave light. It offers better modulation performance than the conventional single modulation scheme for optical multi-channel signal transmission.
This paper outlines the FTTH systems being out to commercial use by NTT. In addition, this paper also describes the technical point of Raman crosstalk that was paid attention to by the authors for the system integration
A misalignment-free air-gap (MFAG) interconnect with via base was proposed to overcome a via misalignment issue. A conventional via structure is fabricated at limited areas around via sites, whereas the other wires have air-gaps. The good yield in 800k vias' chains was confirmed. The reliability of SIV, EM and TDDB were studied. There was no via degradation after thermal stress of 200degC/500hrs....
Prospective studies suggest that hypercholestelemia is an very important risk factor for ischemic heart disease. To clarify the management of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL) levels for secondary prevention of cardiac event (re-infarction) after myocardial infarction, we measured LDL cholesterol levels of 254 patients after myocardial infarction with thrombolytic therapy. Patients were...
