Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) is one of the oldest domesticated crops, showing dramatic adaptation to various climate and environmental conditions. As a major cereal crop, barley ranks the 4th after wheat, maize and rice in terms of planting area and production all over the world. Due to its diploid nature, the cultivated barley is considered as an ideal model to study the polyploid wheat and other...
Other than the traditional active array antenna with complicated feed-line network, a kind of novel array structure called compound printed air-fed array antenna was proposed by the authors. In this paper, some modified schemes for further enhancing the gain of such antenna are discussed, and then a designed sample with improved performances is presented.
This paper presented a broadband and high-efficient compound printed air-fed array with very low profile. By incorporating mushroom AMC base, its bandwidth and aperture efficiency are improved significantly. By utilizing sub-array technique, it could be combined into a larger array for much high gain applications. The design examples has validated the principle and exhibited practical performances.
After a brief review on reflectarray, transmitarray, and Fabry-Perot resonator antennas summarized as a family of printed air-fed array antennas, a novel compound structure is proposed. Its design flowchart is expressed step by step. Some designed samples are described with optimized performance of directivity or frequency bandwidth.
