A main parameter of a 13.56 MHz RFID system is the magnetic coupling factor k respectively the mutual inductance M. In this paper a new method for determining the mutual inductance is presented. This method is based on a two-port consideration to obtain the elements of the impedance matrix of the coupling system. The mutual inductance is calculated from the impedance matrix and the coilpsilas equivalent...
The resonance frequency is a very important parameter for the characterization of PICCs. In this paper a new method for measuring the resonance frequency is presented. In spite of the widely used Real{Z} method the new transfer function method assures a well defined constant working state of the PICC during the measurement. Additionally only scalar measurements have to be performed. First the problems...
Summary The resonance frequency is an important parameter to characterize a Proximity Integrated Circuit Card (PICC). In this paper the resonance frequency of a PICC is defined and derived by using circuit analysis. Then a resonance frequency measurement method is investigated and a detailed error analysis is performed by simulation and measurements.
