Total attenuated reflection (ATR) spectroscopy was performed using monochromatic tunable THz-wave parametric sources in the frequency range of 1-7 THz. Complex refractive indices of liquid samples were determined from analysis of the reflectance data using the Fresnel formula.
Effective and widely tunable THz-wave generation using difference frequency generation in an organic 4-dimethylamino-N-methyl-4-stilbazolium tosylate (DAST) was demonstrated by optimization of optical wavelength with respect to each THz-wave frequency.
Coherent anti-stokes Raman scattering (CARS) via terahertz-frequency optical phonon modes was successfully applied to the imaging of periodically poled lithium niobate crystals. Using spectral changes in the E-mode (50-1100 cm-1 = 1.5-33 THz), periodic structures of ferroelectric domains (period: 20 mum) were clearly mapped with CARS signals.
We report on the demonstration of an effective and widely tunable terahertz (THz)-wave generation using difference frequency generation (DFG) in an organic 4-dimethylamino-N-methyl-4-stilbazolium tosylate (DAST) by optimization of the pumping wavelength. We calculated the Type 0 phase-matching condition of DAST-DFG THz-wave generation over an ultrawide band (1.5-20 THz). A dual-wavelength optical...
The THz region is well-matched to the low-frequency motions of molecules. THz pulsed imaging and spectroscopy are powerful tools for exploring biological, chemical, pharmaceutical fields. For these purposes, we developed a widely tunable and frequency-agile monochromatic THz source spanning from 1.5 to 60 THz, using nonlinear optical processes. By using the organic crystal 4-dimethylamino-N-methyl-4-stilbazolium...
