According to the statistic from World Health Organization (WHO), stroke is one of the major causes of death globally. Computed tomography (CT) scan is one of the main medical diagnosis system used for diagnosis of ischemic stroke. CT scan provides brain images in Digital Imaging and Communication in Medicine (DICOM) format. The presentation of CT brain images is mainly relied on the window setting...
This paper introduces new development technique to improve the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) image quality and we name it as sub‐blocking multiple peak histogram equalization (SUB‐B‐MPHE) with convolution operator. By using this new proposed technique, it shows that the new modified MPHE performs better than original MPHE. In addition, the sub‐blocking method consists of convolution operator...
A real-time local dynamic range compensation system for scanning electron microscope (SEM) imaging applications is studied in this paper. This improved method, average mid-point local recursive mean separate histogram equalization (AMPLRMSHE) uses conventional automatic brightness contrast range stability while providing a better 3D profile appearance. By using sub-block technique, the image's pixel...
A computerized brain database management system is designed and implemented to replace the existing traditional largely hand-recorded system in the radiological department of selectsd hospitals in Malaysia. The new system provides easy access to patient registration, diagnosis, and appointment. It can also collect, calculate and plot statistical data. Thus, it is a useful research tool. The system...
Computed tomography (CT) is the initial imaging modality for stroke diagnoses. However, efficient approach to estimate window setting for CT brain images is not yet founded. Window setting consists of 2 components: window center (WC) and window width (WW). In this paper, a novelty estimation method namely estimation of window width using mean of greyscale level to standard deviation ratio (EWWMGSR)...
In Agriculture, farming is an important process to provide us foods. The production of farming is increasing due to the world population increased. Scientists and Engineers are working on it in order to increase the productions and reduce the time required. Hence, planting and harvest technologies are improved significantly. However, the farming delivering process also is a very important process...
Noise on scanning electron microscope (SEM) images is studied. Gaussian noise is the most common type of noise in SEM image. We developed a new noise reduction filter based on the Wiener filter. We compared the performance of this new filter namely adaptive noise Wiener (ANW) filter, with four common existing filters as well as average filter, median filter, Gaussian smoothing filter and the Wiener...
A new technique based on nearest neighbourhood method is proposed. In this paper, considering the noise as Gaussian additive white noise, new technique single‐image‐based estimator is proposed. The performance of this new technique such as adaptive slope nearest neighbourhood is compared with three of the existing method which are original nearest neighbourhood (simple method), first‐order interpolation...
The paper presents a monitoring system for carrier grade mesh networks. First, the system architecture, components and interfaces are described. Then the measured and discovered network parameters are discussed. A link prediction and trigger algorithm based on a modified mean-reverting diffusion process is proposed. The results from analysis show that this function can significantly enhance link reliability.
