Background 2n pollen play a strong competitive role in hybridization and breeding of multiploids in Rosa hybrida. The ploidy inheritable characteristic of ‘Orange Fire’ × ‘Old Blush’ were analyzed. Result The results of the cytological observations indicated that 2n pollen developed from the defeated cytoplasmic division or nuclear division in the meiosis metaphase II of PMC (pollen mother cell)...
We develop Si-rich SiNx thin films exhibiting large effective second-order nonlinearity (χ(2)) as high as 22.7 pm/V by combining the nonlinear contribution from pre-existing χ(2) in SiNx and from the electric-field induced second-harmonic (EFISH) effect.
We demonstrate a way to engineer a second-order nonlinearity (χ(2)) in silicon-dielectric multilayers via the electric-field induced second-harmonic effect. The value of χ(2) measured using the Maker fringe method is 1.2 pm/V.
A broadband photonic parametric sampling gate capable of capturing high frequency signals is demonstrated. The parametric-sampled ADC performance is characterized with a record high resolution of 6.0 ENOBs at a signal frequency in excess of 100 GHz.
An ultra-low loss and high conversion efficiency silicon waveguide is used as sampling gate via four waves mixing, and 5.2 effective number of bits of signal at 40-GHz is achieved by 2-GHz cavity-less pulse source.
The crystalline YAG-core fiber cladded by high-index N-LaSF9 glass has been fabricated to significantly reduce the number of guided modes. The selective propagation of the LP01 and LP11 modes was successfully demonstrated at 633 nm.
A 40-μm-diameter YAG single crystal fiber cladded by N-SF57 high-index glass was fabricated using the co-drawing laser-heated pedestal growth method. The number of guiding modes of the crystal fiber at 532 nm is estimated to be five.
Ti3+:Al2O3 double-clad crystal fiber was grown for the first time. Using a pump laser diode on a 51-µm-core fiber, 2.2 µW of collimated broadband output power was obtained. The coherence length is 1.38 µm.
