In this work, a cascade-type gate mixer employing TSMC 0.18 µm CMOS technology was developed for application to marine disaster early warning system. The proposed gate mixer showed good RF performances. Concretely, the mixer exhibited a conversion gain of 9 dB and P1dB of 0 dBm. Especially, it showed a very low LO input power of −7 dBm due to the optimum bias design.
For base station applications, -3 dB hybrid coupler has been used for input power dividing stage of Doherty power amplifier (PA). The input direct dividing technique has only been applied for handset applications, because the coupler occupies a large size on a chip. However, this technique provides advantages on power gain and efficiency for base station applications, also. In this paper, we have...
A 24 GHz low-noise amplifier (LNA) and mixer for automotive radar applications was designed using a standard 0.13-mum CMOS technology. For mixer, single balanced resistive mixer was employed to suppress LO leakage signal on RF port. At 24 GHz, the mixer showed a conversion loss of -5.5 dB, an LO leakage suppression of -56.2 dBc on RF port, and 3rd input intercept point of 12 dBm. To achieve sufficient...
