(Tetrathiatetracene)2(iodide )3 is a quasi-one-dimensional organic metal consisting of segregated stacks of (TTT) cation radicals and polyiodide chains. we report the results of a study of the thermoelectric power and electrical conductivity measurements on single crystals of TTT2I3 in which the degree of disorder is varied. Effects of disorder on the phase transition and low temperature conductivity...
New results on an extensive series of physical and chemical measurements on (NMe3H+)(I3−)1/3 (TCNQ) are reported. The data, including transverse conductivity and thermoelectric power, reflectivity and X-ray studies, indicate that this system is a semiconductor at high temperatures (>240K) with a strongly temperature dependent mobility despite its lsέtal-like’ conductivity. A semiconductor-semiconductor...
The Young's moduli of TaS3, (TaSe4)2I, and NbSe3 are found to soften when the samples are biased in excess of the threshold voltage for nonlinear conduction. The sliding state also shows increased internal friction. The softening may be explained by coupling between the phonon and phason modes.
The 77Se NMR spin lattice relaxation rate in (TMTSF)2PF6 in the regime of the Magic Angle Effect (MAE) exhibits no significant changes as the magnetic field orientation is rotated through the MAs, from which we conclude that there is no evidence for either a single-particle gap, or a gap in the spin excitation spectrum. Furthermore, no effect on the FISDW transition temperature was observed at the...
We present a novel technique which allows for the investigation of block copolymer microstructures on various substrates and at different depths. Using a low voltage, high resolution scanning electron microscope (SEM), we examined the topography and underlying morphology of poly(styrene)-poly(butadiene) diblock copolymer films. The internal morphology of the film was exposed for SEM imaging by using...
