Iron losses have been conventionally estimated by a post-processing method of magnetic field analysis because of its low calculation cost. However, in that case, because a DC magnetizing curve without considering losses is used in the magnetic field analysis, a post-processing method loss estimation using those results are not necessarily valid. We compare hysteresis loss and eddy current loss obtained...
This paper presents an accurate and fast iron loss evaluation method using the play hysteron model for the hysteresis loss and one-dimensional Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for the eddy current loss. This approach is applied for an Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (IPMSM) fed by Pulse Width Modulation inverter. The simulation result is compared with the measurement. It is also compared...
Toward reliable and advanced machine designs, a practical modeling method of degraded steel sheets due to manufacturing processes is proposed. The advantage of the proposed method is the fact that the required material data can be measured with the standard single sheet testing without special measurement equipment so that machine manufactures will be able to take into account of the degradation effects...
The high‐flux permanent magnet and flux‐barrier structure of permanent magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) has strong magnetic saturation and harmonic components. When control algorithms for such machines are examined by performing control simulation, the use of the conventional motor model based on the voltage equation can cause problems. To avoid these problems, we introduce the technique of coupled...
In this paper, the influence of the harmonic components of the electromagnetic force caused by manufacturing error on the electromagnetic vibration was examined. The influence of the electromagnetic force generated by manufacturing errors causes the rotor eccentricity and distorts the stator creating an imbalance excitation force triggering electromagnetic vibration. Furthermore we verified that the...
Iron losses generated in PM machines can be estimated by the coupling analysis between magnetic filed simulator and control simulator. The iron losses at various operating conditions are calculated by the coupling analysis system and compared with measured losses. Those results show that the coupling analysis system can estimate the iron losses of PM machines and is useful for design of machine control.
