The goal of this paper is to classify an image into two regions: sky and non-sky. We discuss here the possibility to use a non-linear simplifying filter that operates on high frequencies of the color image, more specifically on the Blue channel, and next to use a k-means classifier with two clusters to perform the sky segmentation.
This paper studies the problem of the temporal features extracted from contrast-enhanced ultrasound video frames in order to find discriminative parameters which will be used later, in conjunction with other feature types, in the development of a computer-aided diagnosis system for focal liver lesions. The created tool will enable safe, cheap, early and largely accessible detection of many hepatic...
This paper focuses on optimizing the classifier and the used feature space of a semi-automatic approach for water floating agents classification. Our approach proposes a method for pollutant/non pollutant river waste labeling. For this task we consider a soft-margin kernel SVM classifier. The optimization process consists in determining the optimal features for classification with regard to two scores:...
An automatic sparse representations based approach for background subtraction is proposed in this paper. The background model is composed of a dictionary and a set of average decomposition coefficients. For this purpose a set of training frames is used to obtain a K-SVD dictionary. The same training set is used to compute decomposition coefficients by orthogonal matching pursuit. The final background-foreground...
A sparse coding based approach for background subtraction is proposed in this paper. The background model is composed from a K-SVD dictionary and a set of mean coefficients associated to each image location. Due to the use of sparse coding, our approach has a regional character. The recovered value of a pixel is obtained by reconstructing the surrounding image patch. In order to avoid problems introduced...
In this paper we address the problem of dynamic trajectory segmentation for human-computer interfaces. We are concerned with locally linear trajectories. Trajectory points are obtained from a hand feature detector. First, a tensor voting technique is used to filter the trajectory and to construct a smooth trajectory from the sparse collection of detected points. The tensor voting scheme is also in...
