We present recent developments of our phonon and photon detections using Lumped Element Kinetic Inductance Detectors (LEKIDs). Photons or phonons incident on super-conducting material break Copper-pairs and change its kinetic inductance. If the superconductor is in a form of a resonator, the resonant frequency shifts depending on the deposited energy of the incident phonon or photon. We have been...
We present the development of Superconducting Tunnel Junction (STJ) detectors as a far-infrared single photon spectrometer, which is motivated for an application to a search for the radiative decay of the cosmic neutrino background (CνB). The photon energy spectrum from the radiative decays of CνB is expected to have a sharp edge at high energy end in a far-infrared region ranging from 14 meV to 25...
Development of a monolithic pixel detector based on SOI (silicon on insulator) technology was started at KEK in 2005. The substrate of the SOI wafer is used as a radiation sensor. At end of 2005, we submitted several test-structure group (TEG) chips for the 150nm, fully depleted CMOS process. The TEG designs and preliminary results are presented.
