Using parity-time (PT) symmetric cavities, we introduce a new family of spectral singularities with highly directional response. At these singularities the PT-symmetric cavity support a simultaneous lasing mode from one side and zero reflection mode from the opposite side.
We experimentally demonstrate a novel approach based on adiabatic elimination scheme to control the coupling between densely packed waveguides. At the nano-scale, cancellation of the coupling between the waveguides can be achieved.
The ubiquitous spin-orbit interaction destroys the particles' spin rotational symmetry and introduces a universal transverse spin current. Here we show that an anomalous refracting metasurface induces a controllable spin-orbit interaction and a path-dependent polarization rotation.
Isatin, an endogenous compound existent in many organisms, shows a wide range of biological activities. In this paper, we like to report the design and synthesis of several isatin derivatives through the acetalization, N-Alkylation, Microwave-asistant Heck coupling reaction and so on. Among those compounds, (E)-1-(4-chlorobenzyl)-5-styryl-indoline-2-carbonyl-3, 3-(ethylenedioxy) dione and (E)-1-(4-chlorob-enzyl)-5-styrylindoline-2,...
The design of a compact microwave diplexer is presented. Folded structures with coupled cavities are used to minimize its size. The sample diplexer is fabricated and the tested results show good agreement with the design target.
A compact filter with coupled shorting stubs is proposed, which also has excellent out-of-band elimination. The structure can produce transmission zeros at both sides of the pass-band of a broadband or a narrow band filter. The configuration parameters and simulated results are presented. Tested results from a sample filter show that the insertion loss is lower than 0.4 dB in the pass-band from 7...
