Ventilation systems operate at buildings level for enhancing air quality by injecting fresher air from outside into inside buildings. In many situations, occupants have to open doors or windows in order to get fresh air. However, in cold or hot periods, or when there are no windows, ventilation systems automatically act on behalf of occupants by insuring good indoor air quality. More precisely, the...
In this paper, a new and compact rectenna is proposed for the application of ISM band at 2.45 GHz using open complementary split ring resonator (OCSRR). The simulated rectifying efficiency and DC voltage were, respectively 57% and 0.9 V when the input power to the rectifying circuit was 0dBm (1mW). The highest efficiency, 62%, was achieved at 2.45 GHz for 3dBm input power and for a charge load 1kΩ.
in this paper, a new broadband RFID tag antenna is presented. The antenna has a simple structure and low profile with only one layer of FR4 dielectric substrate and metallization. By choosing a proper dimension of the short dipole and the T-matching network, a good and broadband impedance matching can be achieved. The obtained impedance bandwidth (S11<−10 dB) across the operating band can reach...
In this paper a new UWB antipodal Vivaldi antenna for breast cancer detection is presented. It is found that by inserting exponential slots into both patches of the antipodal Vivaldi antenna a good matching can be achieved , specially for the lower bandwidth limit , without degradation of the other performances of the proposed antenna. The characteristics of this antenna have been studied numerically...
In this paper, A Compact modified S-Shaped RFID Tag antenna for metallic applications is presented to handle the US Band. To miniaturize the antenna to a size of 49×21×1.58 mm3 and to provide a good conjugate matching between the S-shaped antenna and the ship, the technique of adding asymmetrical triangular stubs on both side of the tag chip which are electrically connected through vias to the ground...
In this paper, a new modified S-shaped antenna for RFID -UHF tag application is presented. To provide a good conjugate matching between the S-shaped tag antenna and the ship, the technique of adding asymmetrical triangular stubs on both side of the tag chip was applied. The proposed tag antenna operating in the 915MHz RFID band proposed here has dimensions of only 51×43 mm2 and the operating bandwidth...
In this paper, a design and analysis of compact coplanar waveguide-fed ultra wideband antenna is presented. The antenna design exhibits a very wide operating bandwidth of 14.3GHz with a return loss better than 10dB in the frequency range from 3.7GHz to 18GHz. The gain of the proposed antenna is around 4.8dBi. This antenna configuration would be useful for UWB indoor application as it is easy to fabricate...
The collaborative and low-cost nature of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) brings significant advantages over traditional communication technologies used in today's electric power systems. Recently, WSNs have been widely recognized as a promising technology that can enhance various aspects of today's electric power systems, including generation, delivery, and utilization, making them a vital component...
This work employs the Singularity Expansion Method (SEM) to model a metallic monopole operating above a conducting ground plane followed by an analysis of printed circular disc antennas. To the authors knowledge, this is the first time that such a SEM analysis has been completed for these planar circular disc ultrawideband (UWB) monopoles. Complete characterization of this nature, in both the time...
MapReduce has been widely used as a powerful parallel data processing model and is adopted by most cloud providers to build cloud computing framework. However, in open cloud systems, security of computation becomes a great challenge. Moreover, MapReduce data-processing services are long-running, which increases the possibility that an adversary launches an attack on the workers and make them behave...

In service oriented computing applications, different resources in grid systems are encapsulated abstractly as services. Sometime, single service software can provide valuable service functions for service consumers, but most of the time, single atomic service can not satisfy them. In this case, the system builds a new composite service, which selects all available qualified grid service for composition...
Grid computing has recently seen a great importance in diverse applications domains of scientific, industrial, and commercial activities, which demand huge computational power. Unlike traditional cluster computing, large scale grids permit the sharing of grid resources spread through different administrative sites autonomy. The distributed and dynamic features of grid resources, their architectures...
In this work, a metamaterial structure consisting of alternative layers of split-ring-resonators and complementary-splitring-resonators is studied numerically and experimentally. It is found that a delay of almost 3 orders of magnitude with respect to free-space of a microwave beam through this metamaterial structure can be achieved at th e first two transmission bands. The study is developed for...
We present in this paper a novel approach for dual-and tri-band filters design with independently controlled center frequencies and bandwidths. On the one hand, a stepped impedance resonator (SIR) is designed to operate at the center frequencies of two bands simultaneously (dual-band), on the other hand, two stepped impedance resonators are designed to operate at the center frequencies of three bands...
In this paper, a novel configuration for a compact planar antenna based on the use of Split Ring Resonators (SRR) is proposed. Excitation of the SRR element is performed by adequately placing the access microstrip lines with respect to the confinement plane of the split rings. Full wave simulation results have been compared with measured values, showing good agreement. The final result is a low cost...
Two planar circular disc antennas that utilize compact impedance matching networks for current and future ultra-wideband (UWB) applications are investigated. The proposed designs have a physically small size (30 mm ?? 35 mm) and simple geometry, and offer a relatively large bandwidth (BW). Input energy is launched through a 50-?? feedline (attached to a K-Connector) and broadband antenna matching...
The goal of backbone operators like: Orange/France telecom, Cegetel, AT&T, Sprint, BT...etc, is minimizing impact on customer applications due to failures and interruptions within their backbone. Data backbones based on MPLS/VPN infrastructures are widely deployed over the world, giving connectivity to enterprises and public users with on demand added services. Ideally: customers will see no interruption...
A compact rectangular dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented for ultra wide band communication systems. Ansoft HFSS 3-D electromagnetic solver is used for the design optimization. The proposed antenna has a low profile (~3), a small size and a low permittivity constant (10.2). An impedance bandwidth about 46% (from 6.9 to 11 GHz) was achieved making this antenna suitable for DS-UWB high band...
The deployment of wireless sensor network (WSN) forms a metric step to make the end of the desired system aim design. Deployment procedure can improve the information collected by giving more priority to the events which are more desired to be supervised; in addition, it can optimize the paths which link the network node among them as presented in this work. In this paper, we have improved the communication...
