Small signal stability is the system ability to maintain synchronism when a small disturbance occurs. The permanent magnet stepper motor (PMSM) is generally two-phase. The nonlinear dynamics of a PMSM by means of linearized model is studied in this paper. The state space averaging approach is used to derive the small signal model. Finally, results simulation for three motor have been reported and...
The distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM) is the FACTS device used for regulate voltage in power distribution network. In this paper, the particular application of a DST-ATCOM in voltage control mode is investigated in a power distribution system. Simulated performance of DSTATCOM is presented at varying conditions. At the end, the result of simulation with Matlab Simulink software has been presented.
This paper presents a speed control strategy for the torsional vibration systems. A state feedback control law using an integrator is designed. The pole-placement controller and integral of time multiplied by absolute error (ITAE) is used to assign closed-loop poles of the system characteristic equation. The simulation results are show to verify good performance obtained using the proposed controller.
The aim of this paper is dynamic modeling and analysis of STATCOM for a single-machine infinite-bus (SMIB) power system. Also the study the applicability of PID type in dynamic performance enhancement with eigenvalue analysis is shown. Non-linear and linear models of a single machine have been derived. The STATCOM is modeled as a reactive current source with a time delay. A comparative study for two...
The main objective of this research work is analysis and design controller for torque control of two-mass resonant system. The integral of time multiplied by absolute error (ITAE) is applied to assign the closed-loop poles of the system characteristic equation. The simulation results show that the transfer of torque has a better performance.
In this paper a two-mass resonant system with a speed controller by resonance ratio control (RRC) has been simulated. The state space technique for two-mass system is used. A linear transfer function model is also developed. The gains of the controller can be designed by coefficient diagram method (CDM). The simulation results are illustrated that the proposed controller improves dynamic performance.
Torsional vibration suppression and attainment of robustness in motion control systems is a requisite in industry applications. This paper presents the algorithm to design a speed control strategy of a two-mass resonant system by a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) or three-term controller. The simulation results show that the control method has robust stability and fast speed response.
The Electric Arc Furnaces is time varied and non linear load that up to now so many models are suggested for the analysis of its operation. This kind of unstable load can make many problems in power quality (i.e. Flicker, Sag and Swell), unstable voltage and current and harmonics for the power transmission network. In this essay, you can find a new model for making a model for the Electric Arc Furnaces...
Summarizes the basic objectives of controllers for UPS system are tracking ability and robustness. To get this aims, many controllers have been proposed in the literature. In this paper a comprehensive review of the nonlinear control techniques of UPS systems with advantages and disadvantages are carried out.
STATCOM control can improve the transmission capacity considerably and can thus enhance the transient stability margin of the power system. In this paper, an optimal control method based on linear quadratic regulator (LQR) control design for transient dynamic performance of STATCOM. The dynamic analysis is verified by transfer function simulation using Matlab and time domain simulation of the open-loop...
The aim of this paper is to model, analysis and simulation of load frequency control in two area power system and parameters variation effects. State equations of a LFC in two area power system for a steam turbine are proposed. Then by examining some factors such as tie-line stiffness, turbine time constant, inertia constant and damping factor, the frequency control methods and influence of a small...
