We report the synthesis and characterization of multi-color gold nanoparticle based tags (Raman nanotags) for molecular imaging. The multi-color Raman nanotags are PEGylated gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) encapsulating a Raman reporter dyes which can be functionalized with any ligand of interest for targeted molecular imaging. The Raman nanotags synthesized with 65 nm gold nanoparticles exhibit the largest...
Lead(II) reacts with pyridine-2-acetaldehyde salicyloylhydrazone (PASH) in the pH range 8.6-9.3 to form a yellow-green, 1:2 chelate which can be extracted into chloroform. Beer's law is obeyed in the concentration range 1.5-6.2 μg ml -1 of lead(II). The molar absorptivity of the extracted species is 1.93 10 4 l mol -1 cm -1 at 380 nm. The proposed...
A simple analysis is presented to show that nonlinear optical rectification can be significantly enhanced by proper choice of composition gradient in linearly graded AlGaAs quantum wells. Numerical results of such an optimisation of nonlinear optical rectification at 10.6 mu m are presented.<<ETX>>
A numerical technique for the exact analysis of quantum wells with arbitrary potential profile is presented. Numerical examples for GaAs/Al/sub x/Ga/sub 1-x/As rectangular quantum wells, graded wells and wells with applied electric field are presented. The technique is simple but highly accurate and can be easily implemented on a small computer such as a PC.<<ETX>>
