We present the modeling, design and fabrication of microfluidic devices incorporating Raman spectroscopy, from which one enables confocal Raman measurements on-chip, as well as optical trapping. In a proof-of-concept demonstration, we measure the Raman spectra of various solutions and investigate the trapping capabilities of the replicated chips.
When SF6 was designated as a green house gas to be reduced, there has been a wish to use an alternative insulating gas to replace pure SF6 gas. And a fluoroketon, C5F10O attracts great attention as a potential substitute. In this paper, the breakdown characteristics of C5F10O/CO2 as mixtures in nonuniform electric filed and the variation of the mixing ratio with elevation were studied. The positive...
To avoid large overvoltage when the current of the dc-link inductor is interrupted, overlap time is added to the drive signals in current source converters, which results in the extra harmonic in grid current. Waveforms of AC side current before and after added overlap time are achieved from analysis of the current commutation process. The expression of overlap current is given according to the pulse...
In this paper, an adjustable microstrip slot antenna using graphene stacks is designed for terahertz applications. And the graphene stacks consist of graphene/Al2O3 sheets, which are embedded in the microstrip substrate of the proposed antenna. According to simulation result, the frequency resonant bandwidth and radiation of the novel antenna can be dynamically modulated under different chemical potential.
The law of reflection is the basic experimental law in college physical course. According to the Fermat principle of the Geometric Optics theory, particle swarm optimization algorithm(PSO) is used to search for the point position on the plane. By regression analysis and significance test on a large number of samples, the law of reflection is verified. The method is helpful to the revolution for the...
Erasure codes are widely used in practical storage systems to prevent disk failure and data loss. However, these codes require excessive disk I/Os and network traffic for recovering unavailable data. As a result, the recovery performance of erasure codes is suboptimal. Among all erasure codes, Minimum Storage Regenerating (MSR) codes can achieve optimal repair bandwidth under the minimum storage during...
Scientific simulations on high performance computing (HPC) platforms generate large quantities of data. To bridge the widening gap between compute and I/O, and enable data to be more efficiently stored and analyzed, simulation outputs need to be refactored, reduced, and appropriately mapped to storage tiers. However, a systematic solution to support these steps has been lacking on the current HPC...
Task mapping is an important problem in parallel and distributed computing. The goal in task mapping is to find an optimal layout of the processes of an application (or a task) onto a given network topology. We target this problem in the context of staging applications. A staging application consists of two or more parallel applications (also referred to as staging tasks) which run concurrently and...
Die-stacked DRAM (a.k.a., on-chip DRAM) provides much higher bandwidth and lower latency than off-chip DRAM. It is a promising technology to break the "memory wall". Die-stacked DRAM can be used either as a cache (i.e., DRAM cache) or as a part of memory (PoM). A DRAM cache design would suffer from more page faults than a PoM design as the DRAM cache cannot contribute towards capacity of...
With the further research of big data management, plenty of components for big data management have been developed. Based on Hadoop platform, these components provide solutions for big data management from different levels. The Hadoop ecosystem has gradually taken its shape. However, users usually lack the knowledge about the features of these components, such as the I/O pattern, capability, application...
In this paper, service risk model based on the fiber link failure is defined for the power communication over optical transport networks (OTN). We also propose the computation methods for the probability of fiber link failure, and the service losses. The methodfor service risk analysis is designed and the probability of fiber link failure is analyzed. The reliability loss caused by the single fiber...
This paper investigates the problem of cooperative formation control of unmanned surface vehicles (USVs). According to the second-order consensus protocol with a virtual-leader, a distributed control law is derived, in which the consensus formation motion information can only be obtained by a part of USVs. Taking advantages of the shared information between adjacent multi-USVs, the USVs can control...
The published papers on the journal of xi'an university of science and technology from 2007 to 2016 were collected from CNKI in this article. A total of 1511 papers were retrieved. These parameters were acquisited, such as title, author, organ, keyword, summary, PubTime, FirstDuty, fund, year, period, PageCount. Three LINUX servers were used to build Hadoop+Spark computing environment. By five aspects...
Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is a kind of population evolutionary algorithm with profound intelligent background and the research aimed at its evolution feature and evolution law has great theoretical significance. In this paper, the fuzzy PID controller is introduced into PSO algorithm, and then the fuzzy PID-PSO algorithm is presented. Then six commonly used test functions are applied to verify...
The intelligent devices have taken us to a convenient and fashionable era, however while we use a pedometer to calculate the number of steps, the blind even do not have the ability to walk independently. There is no doubt that they are eager for convenience and freedom, based on this, this article proposes an intelligent system that assists the blind in walking. The system consists of a crutch and...
Sustainable innovation is important at all stages of the supply chain development. Each stage of the supply chain, they need to invest on sustainable innovation research and development. Motivated by the real business investigation, a supply chain model with one supplier and one manufacturer is analysed in this study. We consider a cooperative investment contract for the supplier and the manufacturer...
In order to simply and effectively extract important feature information and improve the accuracy of microscopic image recognition of Chinese Herbal Medicine (CHM), a kind of microscopic image enhancement technique of CHM based on fuzzy sets is put forward. Fuzzy set describes the vague degree of information, which study the different objects belong to the same class of membership relations. Implementation...
The extraction of vehicle region of interest (ROI) is a key step of vehicle detection system. When Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) is applied to vehicle ROI extraction, the extraction speed is unsatisfied and the results remain some noise blocks. In order to solve these problems, a method of vehicle ROI extraction based on area estimation Gaussian Mixture Model is proposed. First, Gaussian mixture background...
As we continue toward exascale, scientific data volume is continuing to scale and becoming more burdensome to manage. In this paper, we lay out opportunities to enhance state of the art data management techniques. We emphasize well-principled data compression, and using it to achieve progressive refinement. This can both accelerate I/O and afford the user increased flexibility when she interacts with...
The high temperature storage test (HTST) was conducted on the SnAgCu/Ni-W-P and Ni-Fe solder joints. While the conventional Ni-P solder joints were used as comparison to study the diffusion barrier effect of Ni-W-P and Ni-Fe under bump metallization (UBM). Both cross section and top view for the microstructural evolution of solder joints during 150°C aging were observed by the scanning electron microscope...
