We report on efficient up-conversion of THz signals into the optical domain using a high-Q dielectric resonator. Since the system is all-resonant and phase-matched, we present a record photon number conversion of 2.5×10−5 around 100 GHz.
We present a coherent microwave to telecom signal converter based on the electro-optical effect using a crystalline WGM-resonator coupled to a 3D microwave cavity, achieving high photon conversion efficiency of 0.1% with MHz bandwidth.
Seasonal abundance and effect on onion yield reduction were studied for onion thrips, Thrips tabaci Lindeman, for two consecutive seasons (dry and rainy) to develop economic thresholds (ET) in Honduras. Overall, thrips populations were highest during the dry season, with average thrips per leaf per day 5.2 times higher than during the rainy season. In the two onion cultivars tested (Granex 429 ...
Field trials of three weed management methods and three insecticide treatments were evaluated for use in controlling Hypsipyla grandella in small-scale plantations of Pacific mahogany (Swietenia humilis) in Honduras. Weed row, weed-free, and maize taungya methods were evaluated in 1-year-old plantations. Two-year-old trees were treated with deltamethrin, Bacillus thuringiensis, or neem seed extract...
We analyzed the variability and established the phylogeny of the L1 capsid protein gene of 33 isolates of human papillomavirus type 5 (HPV5) obtained from epidermodysplasia verruciformis patients from different continents. By comparing the sequences of a 419-bp fragment with those published for two Japanese isolates, we found 12.9% variable nucleotide positions, defining 25 variants with mutation...
