This experimental study deals with a method of improving the bearing capacity of strip footings resting on sand subgrades, utilizing a geogrid and bamboo as vertical reinforcement. The test results indicate that this type of reinforcement increases the bearing capacity and stiffness of sand subgrades when the reinforcement is properly located relative to the footing.
