Purpose: Intracranial monitoring (IM) is a key diagnostic procedure for select patients with treatment‐resistant epilepsy (TRE). Seizure focus resection may improve seizure control in both lesional and nonlesional TRE. IM itself is not considered to have therapeutic potential.
