Laser-printing of crystalline silk patterns in amorphous fibroin film is demonstrated by femtosecond-laser pulses 1030 nm/230 fs without use of photo-initiator. The same patterns can be achieved by ablation of the crystalline silk film. Amorphous silk can be used as a negative tone photo-resist.
We focused on the Au, Ag and Cu alloy systems and the experimental determination of their optical permittivity using optical transmission and reflection measurements with thin metal films. The optical constants define the plasmon resonance frequency and the electro-magnetic field intensity localized around the nanoparticles. However it is less known how the alloy metals perform in the field enhancement...
The photo-thermo electrical conversion system using black silicon and gold nanoparticles have been suggested for energy harvesting. Efficient light absorption with black silicon and plasmonic photo-thermal energy conversion was successfully improving the energy conversion efficiency of light. Totally ∼50% of improvements has been achieved with optimization of Au nanoparticles diameters and density.
Thermal to electrical energy conversation was increased by ∼ 50% by dispersing 50-nm-diameter Au nanoparticles over the black-Si light harvesting surface at an optimized concentration of the Au-colloidal solution. The size of Au nanoparticles corresponds to the extinction maximum at the spectral location of the reflection dip of black-Si substrate. Black-Si with reflectivity of 1–2% over the entire...
