A new, technologically simple structure of hollow-core optical fiber is proposed, which cladding is formed by eight contiguous capillaries, the surface of the hollow core having a negative curvature. This fiber design provides good light localization: the ratio of radiation intensities at the core center and at the surface of the capillary amounts to eight orders of magnitude. We have previously demonstrated...
We report on a new fiber design: an ytterbium-doped single-mode all-solid photonic bandgap fiber with a MFD of 18 micrometers. This fiber design has the potential for scaling to larger MFD.
We analyze optical properties of all-silica photonic bandgap fibers with an ultra low ratio of the cladding rods diameter to the center-to-center distance of the rods. Optical properties similar to those of LMA holey fibers are revealed both numerically and experimentally.
Kinetics of SiCl 4 into SiO transformation process in oxygen plasma of stationary reduced-pressure microwave-induced discharge is studied theoretically and experimentally. Calculations and experiments have been carried out for an extended stationary plasma column, limited by substrate tube silica walls (SPCVD technology). The model includes 10 components and 18 major chemical reactions, and...
