A time-to-frequency converter based on a modified time lens is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. Return-to-zero pulse with a duty cycle of 33 % and 67 % are both accurately mapped into the spectral domain.
A 25-GHz 1.7-ps optical Nyquist pulse generator is demonstrated numerically using a time lens with subsequent optical filtering. 7.1-ps Nyquist pulses on 4 wavelengths are also obtained simultaneously.
We propose to insert inverse group velocity dispersion in a conventional time-lens based optical pulse generator to generate pedestal-free optical pulses without optical filtering. A 10-GHz 6.14-ps pedestal-free pulse train is achieved experimentally.
A cost-effective, reliable method for multicolor ultrashort pulse generation was demonstrated using a single phase modulator with subsequent Mamyshev reshaping. 25-GHz, 2-ps pulses on 4 wavelengths were obtained simultaneously.
