The bird’s-eye primrose (Primula farinosa L.) is an endangered species in Poland. The sole remaining, and critically endangered, population of approximately 300 flowering plants is located in the Beskid Sądecki Mountains (Jaworki, Poland). The genetic investigation was performed using highly variable microsatellite markers on a total of four populations: the Polish population and its three nearest...
Primula farinosa L. of Primulaceae family is a protected, rare and critically endangered species of Polish flora. All lowland sites of this species do not longer exist at present. The population number of the only one mountainous site discovered in 1959 in Beskid Sądecki (South Poland) is violently decreasing. The reasons for decrease in the population can be complex and associated with changes in...

The paper presents results of floristic research on vascular plants in the abandoned limestone quarry in Tyniec. Altogether, 104 species representing 26 families were found. The species composition of the plant communities in the quarry was characteristic of dry grassland and meadow communities. The degree of synanthropization was 97.1%. Carlina acaulis was the only protected species found in the...
Demographic studies often point out the poor state of insular populations of Hacquetia epipactis. The species is under strict protection. This is due to both natural and anthropogenic factors, including the collection of intact plants for gardens. As a form of integrated protection, an attempt at ex situ propagation was undertaken using seeds and tissue culture.
Hacquetia epipactis (Scop.) DC. of the family Apiaceae is one of the most peculiar species in the Polish flora. Outside of Pogórze Cieszyńskie and Ślądk Opolski, it is found at a few isolated sites in southern Poland. It has been protected since 2004 as a rare species. It is listed as vulnerable in the Polish Red Book of Vascular Plants. This paper presents a comparison of two insular populations...
