This paper investigates the new wind power generation system, which uses the diode rectifier to convert the real power from the induction generator to the intermediate dc voltage, and the inverter to supply the reactive power necessary to excite the induction generator. This scheme is expected to reduce the system cost. Control scheme and maximum power point tracking strategy are verified by the simulation.
An emergency power supply (EPS) using an induction generator with a fly-wheel energy storage is investigated. Two different exciting system for the wounded rotor winding have been investigated. The principles of the operation and experimental results are shown. The results of start-up and steady state condition indicate that the inverter rating of the doubly fed induction generator is reduced fairly.
This paper shows the simulation results about the reduction of the current peak of PFC converter connected to voltage source converter excited induction generator for wind power generation. This is one of the investigations of new combination of the induction generator for wind power and the power electronic equipments. Induction generator is popularly used for the wind power generation. The disadvantage...
This paper investigates the new wind power generation system, which uses the diode rectifier to convert the real power from the induction generator to the intermediate DC voltage, and the inverter to supply the reactive power necessary to excite the induction generator. This scheme is expected to reduce the system cost. Control scheme and soft start strategy are verified by the simulation.
This paper investigates advantages of new combination of the induction generator for wind power and the power electronic equipments. Induction generator is popularly used for the wind power generation. The disadvantage of it is impossible to generate power at the lower rotor speed than the synchronous speed. To compensate this disadvantage, expensive synchronous generator with the permanent magnets...
This paper investigated the reactive power increase when the cage rotor induction machine is connected to the utility system through the full rating VSC link system. The calculation using equivalent circuit indicates that the increase in the reactive power consumption may be suppressed by the decrease in the reactive power consumption of the secondary circuit. The combination of the cage rotor induction...
OSAKA converter, which is a large scale three-phase soft-switching power factor corrected converter, is proposed. The converter switches once in every half cycle of an AC commercial power source. Therefore, it can solve many problems caused by the high frequency operation. The proposed converter achieves the soft-switching operation and the EMI noise can be reduced. In this circuit, resonant capacitor,...
