This work presents a new systematic approach to design impedance measurement systems for living cell detection and monitoring. The hardware of the system was implemented in PCBs as a proof-of-concept. A DAC channel generates the required excitation signals to be applied onto the living cell and the current flowing through the cell is converted into voltage and digitized by an ADC channel. An FPGA...
The authors proposed a novel structure representation strategy __ ??Interaction-Distance?? theory to study the quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSARs) of peptide. The ??Interaction-Distance?? theory stated that: I. In a peptide chain, there exists interaction between any two amino acids; II. The value of interaction lies on not only the types the two amino acids, but also the distance...
In this work, we fabricate a surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)-active substrate with low background signals using bottom-up approach. Staphylococcus aureus has been used as Raman probe to evaluate its enhancement capability. The experimental results of this study show that Staphylococcus aureus was well resolved using gold-coated hydrothermally roughened TiO2 substrates.
A multiscale approach for peak identification and representation is proposed in the context of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). The issue of overlapping effects, which frequently appear in biological signals but have not been addressed well in established approaches, is the main concern in this paper. The peak identification will be an ambiguous problem if the overlapping effects are not...
A multiscale approach for peak representation and identification is proposed in the context of surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS). The SERS spectrum is naturally composed of peaks with different preferred scales, and some tiny but reproducible peaks can be important distinguishing factors. However, if only a single scale is employed, there is a significant probability that a tiny peak will...
We demonstrate molecular-specific third-harmonic-generation microscopy in cultured Hela cells and hamster oral cavity by using CdSe/ZnS/lipid quantum dots as contrast agent.
