We have discovered that Stokes lines of dye stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in a multiple scattering media (MSM) appear in strict sequence: each line appears after occurrence of shorter wave one. Although outwardly this sequence is similar to the lines occurrence of plain SRS but its origin and mechanism is different. The main difference is that SRS in MSM is part of coupled process SRS and random...
Dynamics of random lasing (RL) is computed using Monte-Carlo simulation. Three stages of RL formation were searched out: accumulation of pump photons and excited molecules in the sample; formation of multiple-modes RL (II); relaxation of RL radiations with preferential preservation of high-Q modes (III). The dominate role of high-Q modes in RL formation are pointed at.
Dependencies of random lasing (RL) spectrum parameters on crosswise dimension of active region and thickness of multiply scattering active medium were experimentally investigated. These dependencies reveal characteristic points caused by specific spatial domains of RL: RL radiation confinement, active region and RL mode localization. The dependencies allow finding the domain sizes.
Modeling of the random lasing in diffusive regime by Monte-Carlo method and Kubelka-Munk theory has been carried out. It has been obtained the experiment-corresponded dependencies of radiation parameters on media characteristics. The optimal samples parameters for effective lasing have been found.
The spectrum behavior evolution and the threshold of random lasing depending on the way of photon walk randomization in an active random medium were investigated. The following three ways of photon walk randomization were implemented: multiple light scattering by corundum and silica particles embedded into a solid polymer solution of dye (astrafloxin), multiple light reflection at sub-millimeter extensive...
