We demonstrated CW SHG at 400 nm in a first-order QPM adhered slab waveguide with a periodically-poled Mg-doped stoichiometric lithium tantalate core. The measured SHG normalized conversion efficiency was 34.7%/W for a 20 mm length.
We report the observation of the broadest frequency correlation of two-photon states to date via parametric down conversion using chirped QPM device. The two-photon correlation in time domain can be compressed to 3.3 cycles.
Quantum optical coherence tomography (QOCT) can achieve high-resolution imaging with dispersion tolerance by virtue of quantum entanglement. We demonstrate advantages of high-resolution QOCT by comparison with classical optical coherence tomography.
We report sum-frequency-photon generation from an entangled photon pair, which is an important step toward the realization of photon pairs with ultra-short (monocycle) temporal correlation.
The state-of-art technology of a quasi-phase matched (QPM) device has enabled the efficient generation of frequency-entangled photon pairs through parametric fluorescence [1, 2]. Harris [3] has proposed the generation of photon pairs which are correlated on a mono-cycle time scale of optical period. In that paper, the poling period of QPM device is linearly chirped (increased) from the entrance to...
We observed the sudden deformation of a quadruply quantized vortex into a linear shape in a 87Rb (F=2,mF=2) Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC). Multiply quantized vortex is predicted to split into singly quantized vortices and the observed deformation is considered to be the onset of the splitting. The displacement of the vortex with respect to the center of the BEC would induce the observed splitting...
In very sharp curved tracks where the efficient difference of rolling radius between inside/outside wheels is hard to obtain by the bogie, various ill-suited phenomena, such as rail corrugation, squeal noise, derailment and etc., are occurring. The purpose of this study is to avoid these phenomena. The effect of friction modifier on the improvement of bogie curving performance has been systematically...
