In this paper the classical boundary value approach employing the separation of variable technique is used to analyze the properties of elliptic dielectric resonators. In this approach, the fields inside the resonator are expanded in terms of Mathieu and modified Mathieu functions. Numerical results are given for resonant frequencies of different modes as well for field distributions inside the resonator.
A leaky wave antenna of uniform configuration based on nonradiative dielectric wave guide (NRD) is studied. Non radiative dielectric wave guide is a modification of H-guide suitable for millimetre wavelengths. Wave propagation, power leakage, radiation pattern and frequency scanning feature of this kind of antenna is analyzed. Analysis is held on U band of frequencies using HFSS software.

Reducing mutual coupling between elements of an antenna array is one of the main topics in array designs. The use of electromagnetic band-gap (EBG) structures built by microstrip technology is an attractive way to mitigate the mutual coupling problem. This letter describes a novel configuration of uniplanar compact electromagnetic band-gap (UC-EBG) structures to reduce mutual coupling between the...
This paper presents the analysis and design of a circularly polarized (CP) slot-coupled elliptical dielectric resonator antenna (EDRA). We have developed a genetic algorithm (GA) based on the Rayleigh-Ritz method to obtain elliptical dielectric resonator (EDR) dimensions in order to fix the resonant frequencies of two close special consecutive modes such that at the desired frequency two modes are...
Dielectric Resonators (DRs) have many applications as Microwave devices and Antenna. In many DRAs the simple geometry poses a significantly complex electromagnetic fields. There isn't analytical closed-form solution for most but hemispherical DRA. One usual method for the analysis of DRAs is finding propagation modes of its geometry and by knowing the location of feed approximate the mode or modes...
