In this paper a method is presented that allows an operator to hand-guide a robot along a predefined geometric path. This is a common use case in robot assisted surgery, which often has high demands on precision. In order to ensure the path accuracy of the robot, joint velocity and joint acceleration constraints are enforced to prevent undesired saturation effects of the actuators. Furthermore, necessary...
Observation of molecular dynamics is often biased by the optical very heterogeneous environment of cells and complex tissue. Here, we have designed an algorithm that facilitates molecular dynamic analyses within brain slices. We adjust fast astigmatism-based three-dimensional single-particle tracking techniques to depth-dependent optical aberrations induced by the refractive index mismatch so that...
Here we present an approach to manipulate a range of articulated objects using a mobile robot equipped with a force sensitive robotic arm. Our system is designed to operate based on programmable rough estimates of initial movement or even without any a priori knowledge at all. We use a manipulability criterion in conjunction with active compliance to plan and execute the desired task.
In order to operate reliably in industrial environments, a mobile robot must know where it is. As part of a student project, a method has been developed for robust localisation in a partly ambiguous environment using a particle filter. This enables accurate estimations of the robot's position by merging odometry readings with measurements provided by a 240 degree laser rangefinder. The developed algorithm...
