Two electrically small antenna designs are analyzed numerically and are then compared. The first is a frequency-agile version of the three-dimensional (3D) Egyptian-axe dipole (EAD) antenna. The second is its two-dimensional (2D) planar counterpart. The frequency-agile performance characteristics of both the two-dimensional and three-dimensional Egyptian-axe dipole designs are studied and compared...
Comparisons between planar (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) versions of the Egyptian axe dipole near-field resonant parasitic (NFRP) antenna are presented. In particular, their radiation efficiencies and frequency bandwidths as functions of their electrical size (ka) are obtained. It is demonstrated that there is little difference in the ka behavior between the 2D and 3D versions.
