Experimental data is presented demonstrating 100GbE (4×25.8 Gbps) SWDM4 VCSEL technology, and SWDM4 transmission over 200m and 300m of wideband OM4 fibers. All NRZ SWDM4 channels achieved error-free transmission at 200m, and BER < 1e-9 at 300m. In addition, successful 180 (4×45) Gbps transmission is demonstrated over 300m wideband OM4 fibers using a 45-Gbps-PAM4 chip. Real time BERs < 2e-4 were...
This paper demonstrates experimentally the distribution of radio-over-fiber (RoF) signals using orbital angular momentum (OAM) of light over standard OM4 multimode fiber (MMF) at 850 nm wavelength. Five independent OAM modes are used to convey RoF signals in the microwave regime showing robust performance and therefore opening new prospects for enhancing the capacity of MMF based RoF Links.
1060 nm VCSEL-based data transmission over 50 m OM3 MMF at 30 Gbit/s is experimentally demonstrated. A highly-strained bottom-emitting QW VCSEL with p-type modulation doping is used with 3.77 mA bias and 0.55 V data amplitude.
Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Lasers (VCSELs) are extremely cost effective, energy efficient optical sources ideal for passive optical access networks. However, wavelength chirp and chromatic dispersion severely limit VCSEL performance at bit rates of 10Gb/s and above. We experimentally show how off-center wavelength filtering of the VCSEL spectrum at an array waveguide grating can be used to mitigate...
