This Letter is devoted to results of the both experimental and theoretical studies of electromagnetic radiation output power gain in the low-voltage microwave generator with a virtual cathode (vircator) under an external harmonic signal leading to the preliminary velocity modulation of the electron beam. The simple theoretical model of the electron beam with virtual cathode in a diode gap with retarding...
The numerical investigation of the output power of the electromagnetic radiation of a relativistic electron beam with a virtual cathode in the presence of external magnetic field has been carried out. The typical dependencies of the output microwave power of a relativistic vircator model versus external magnetic field have been analyzed by means of 3D electromagnetic simulation in CST Particle Studio...
We obtained representations for static electric and magnetic fields induced by charged-particle current in a regular simply connected ideally conducting waveguide in the form of solutions to excitation equations of Kisunko-Vainshtein waveguide excitation theory. On the example of a regular rectangular waveguide an equivalence of the obtained expressions with Green's function representations of these...
The study of the output power of electromagnetic radiation of a relativistic electron beam (REB) with a virtual cathode in the presence of external magnetic field has been carried out. The typical dependencies of the output microwave power of the vircator versus external magnetic field have been analyzed by means of 3D electromagnetic simulation. It has been shown that power of the vircator demonstrates...
The report deals with study of the virtual cathode (VC) formation processes in the external non-uniform magnetic field of periodic focusing system (MPFS). It is shown that there is possibility of the control of power and spectrum of VC generation by the variation of characteristics of MPFS.
Influence of electron temperature velocity initial distribution upon virtual cathode (VC) nonlinear dynamics and output characteristics of devices with a virtual cathode are analyzed by means of 2D numerical simulation. It was discovered that electron velocity distribution in the electron beam cause VC oscillations to break off.
The virtual cathode (VC) forming processes in the annular electron beam in the external magnetic field are numerically analyzed. It is shown that VC dynamics depends on relation between the external magnetic field and Brillouin magnetic field.
