This paper presents the results of a study of silicon multilayered structures in the near-infrared region (wavelength range 0.8–1.7 µm). The quasi-periodic layered systems are created when two different layers with alternative high (H) and low (L) refractive index are arranged according to the following relations: equation, where x= mλ/4, (m-1,2 …)- is the effective optical thickness of the arbitrary...
The model describing excitation and distribution of electromagnetic waves in an anisotropic optical waveguide in the three-dimensional case is presented in this paper. The finite difference method (FDM) has been employed for the Maxwell equation discretization for a random anisotropic medium. The resulting system of linear algebraic equations for the electric-field components in an inhomogeneous anisotropic...
The model for description of one-dimensional anisotropic photonic crystals and microcavities based on dispersive anisotropic porous silicon is proposed. The finite difference technique is applied for the scattering matrix parameter computation. Reflectance spectra for two orthogonal polarizations of the incident plane wave are calculated.
The model for description of one-dimensional anisotropic photonic crystals based on anisotropic porous silicon is proposed. The finite difference technique is applied for the scattering matrix parameter computation. Reflectance spectra for two orthogonal polarizations of the incident plane wave are calculated. The dependence of the shift of the spectral position of the photonic band gap edges on the...
In this paper, it is presented a two-sided one-dimensional photonic bandgap microstrip structure. The structure is obtained by etching a one periodic pattern of circles in the ground plane of a microstrip line and variation of the characteristic impedance as a function of the length of the microstrip line. The calculated scattering parameters of the proposed filter are presented.
Microcavity based on macroporous silicon infiltrated with liquid crystals is described theoretically using the proposed model. We use construction of electrical contacts, which allows apply electrical field perpendicularly to the pore axis. Various cases of the pore size and different pre-orientation of liquid crystal molecules are considered. Reflection spectra for two orthogonal polarizations of...
In this paper the results of experimental and analytical research of FBG with a defect in a periodic structure are given. This technology is very convenient for demultiplexing and add-drop applications in optical networks, because it allows to obtain the considerable extension of channel density, i. e. to improves the performance of data transmission systems. The analysis of FBG with a defect by solving...
