Research projects are essential tools for creating knowledge and fueling societal developments. Consequently, research efforts are consistent with requirements from accepted scientific methods as they are exhaustively recorded and stored. Traditional approaches are equally effective in helping assess the robustness of research methods. However, approaches to recording research projects leave behind...
Waste flow business ecosystems include numerous actors ranging from regulatory bodies actively involved in numerous business and non-governmental actors. High amount of actors can be considered as an entry barrier for new technological actors. Yet, business potential that relates on waste flow management is enormous globally but without conceptualizing the ecosystem in detail level, the business potential...
This paper discusses drivers of the use of social media tools by organizational members. Specifically, we contrast the expectations of senior managers of social media tool adoption with the benefits perceived by organizational members after the implementation of these tools. We analyzed empirical findings from 252 respondents to a survey of three global companies before and after social media tool...
Humans are hardwired as problem-solvers. Professional education, in particular, enables us to solve complex problems. Even decades ago, we could safely send a crew to the moon and back. A moon-bound project is a very challenging and complex problem, but it is a tame one. The problem is clearly defined and the challenge becomes how to find the best solution. As the world and issues become more interconnected,...
In the present paper, we discuss how the adoption of online collaboration tools (OCT) has influenced new product development (NPD). Our aim is specifically to consider how an organization's absorptive capacity is influenced by its adoption of social media tools. We conducted a survey in a case company investigating the state of absorptive capacity before and after the large-scale adoption of social...
In this paper, we investigate the possibility of using social media technologies to select and forecast the viability of early-stage technological ideas at the fuzzy front-end (FFE) of the product development process. During the FFE, market needs, wants, and preferences are seldom clear, especially when considering radical new technologies. For a company seeking clarity on the preferences in its selection...
A laser pulse timing detector has been designed. The circuit consists of a low-noise transimpedance amplifier channel with gain control and a timing detector. The measured bandwidth of the amplifier channel is 10 MHz, transimpedance 340 k?? - 2.7 M?? and input referred noise 0.9pA/??Hz. The walk error of the timing detector is +/- 50ps, when its input signal amplitude varies from 150 mV to 2.5 V.
