We present the simulation results, fabrication and measurements of a Si3N4 nanobeam cavity as a first step of obtaining enhanced single photon emission from quantum emitters in a photonic crystal cavity incorporating a metal nanoparticle. The cavity is designed to resonate at the operating wavelength of a CdSe quantum dot emitter. We use focused ion beam (FIB) milling as a one step process and have...
We demonstrate a parabolic reflector nanoantenna as a structure for directivity-enhanced Raman scattering (DERS). This antenna consists of a nanoscale paraboloid shaped Au reflector and an Ag nanoprism feed element. We experimentally test this nanoantenna and obtain a 22× enhancement to the Raman signal from nanoantenna structures with planar reflectors, and estimate a 1100× enhancement to the surface-enhanced...
We demonstrate tuning of the plasmonic resonance of silver nanoprisms by coupling to a thin gold film (i.e., through plasmon hybridization). Altering the thickness of dielectric spacer layer between the silver nanoprisms and the gold film is a convenient way to shift the resonant wavelength, and a shift from 610 nm to 850 nm is demonstrated, both with numerical calculations and experiment. This tuning...
