A reduced-size wideband single-feed circularly polarized patch antenna is introduced for telemetry applications in -band around 2300 MHz. The proposed structure consists of a slot-loaded patch antenna printed over an optimized metamaterial-inspired reactive impedance substrate (RIS). We demonstrate, step by step, the main role of each antenna element by comparing numerically and experimentally the...
We study in this paper the design of circularly-polarized (CP) patch antennas on a reactive impedance substrate (RIS). Dual- and single-feed patches are considered. The characteristics are compared with those of a single-layer antenna and the corresponding dual-layer antenna. Numerical results are confirmed by experimental ones. A wideband CP patch antenna on the metamaterial substrate is designed.
