One-periodic planar arrays of straight wires or metal strips have a long history of applications as quasioptical polarizing devices and partially transparent mirrors. Their properties are well known. Planar double-periodic structures have been used in the microwave, terahertz and optical frequency ranges because of their remarkable electromagnetic properties and manufacturing simplicity. In microwaves,...
We report on a method of numerical analysis of characteristics of a thin loaded dipole antenna. The method is applied to study a short loaded monopole with a finite size of a metal background. Numerical results are presented on frequency dependencies of an input feed current and an input impedance of the monopole for a few different values of a diameter of a metal circular background screen.
We report on a bistable wave transmission through a narrow slit with Kerr nonlinear dielectric filling which is perforated on a perfectly conducting metal screen. The approximate analytical expressions for calculation of both the inner intensity inside the slit and the transmission coefficient are presented.
