The second-order nonlinear refractive index m (Kerr index) of cyclic olefin copolymer (TOPAS) and cyclic olefin polymers (ZEONEX, ZEONOR) is determined to be approximately 2 × 10−20 m2W−1 for all cases at the wavelength of 800 nm. The obtained values of n2 are subsequently used as input data to pulse propagation simulations based upon the generalized nonlinear Schrödinger equation.
Supercontinuum generation study in dual core square lattice photonic crystal fibre made of multicomponent glass was performed. The fiber was excited by 100 fs pulses of Ti:sapphire based optical parametric amplifier system with tunability range of 1100 - 1500 nm. Zero dispersion point of the relevant modes in the studied fiber is in area 1200 - 1300 nm, so there was a possibility to excite the fiber...
Linear and nonlinear properties of multicomponent glass double core photonic crystal fiber were studied using two samples drawn from the same preform with overall diameter 70 mum and 105 mum. Both dispersion and coupling characteristics of the samples were calculated providing information for observed effective supercontinuum generation at pumping in the second communication window. In the case of...
