The use of new wireless mobile technologies in nuclear power plants is growing fast. The WLAN technology based on the IEEE 802.11 standard has a very promising future for its use in nuclear power plants due to features like mobility, reliability, security, scalability and compatibility with other communication networks technologies. However, wireless technology may exhibit greater vulnerability to...
Nowadays, it is very important to study the behavior of the wireless networks due to the variety of applications that make use of this technology. These applications frequently require a minimum QoS in order to work properly and guarantee a good service to the user. This paper aims to find a relationship between signal to noise ratio (SNR) and a 802.11g networkpsilas QoS in terms of latency, packet...
A computer model has been used to study the effects of handover in a cellular radio system. Three parameters are used to represent the radio propagation conditions including fading, which can give rise to multiple handovers on a single crossing of the cell boundary. Means for reducing unnecessary handovers are discussed.
