A comparison of Radar Cross Section (RCS) measurement results between several French measurement indoor facilities has been organized in the framework of a French Working Group (Groupe de Travail sur les incertitudes en chambre anéchoïque: GTi), dealing with measurement uncertainties in anechoic chamber. The GTi involves 22 laboratories that are either industrial or academic research ones, or laboratories...
This paper deals with the RCS (Radar Cross Section) acquisition procedure in the anechoic chamber of ENSTA Bretagne. This device will be used in the comparison of RCS measurements organized by a French working group (GTi) [1]. One objective of this group is to determine uncertainties in an anechoic chamber from RCS measurements of different targets. In this paper, we present our experimental system...
A national comparison of RCS measurement results between national measurement laboratories has been organized in the framework of a French Working Group (Groupe de Travail incertitudes: GTi), dealing with measurement uncertainties in anechoic chamber. This Working Group involves 22 laboratories that are either industrial or academic research ones, or laboratories depending on governmental organisms...
This paper describes a methodology to model and simulate the reflectivity measured by radar observing a maritime environment. The simulation principle consists of reproducing the acquisition of a Real Aperture Radar (RAR) moving along its axis. Pulse after pulse, high range resolution profiles are successively computed by summing the contribution of backscatters comprised in the radar footprint. The...
In this paper, we focus in the bistatic scattering coefficients of the sea surface, we study an asymptotic model, the Weighted Curvature Approximation (WCA) for a dielectric sea surface with Gaussian statistics and 2-D correlation function. The bistatic scattering coefficients obtained allow to compare the performance of WCA model with other asymptotic models such as SSA and TSM models.
This paper interests in bistatic scattering wave from oceans surface. We present different scattering method for 2D random rough surfaces in bistatic configuration. The purpose is to study their validity for a particular surface: the ocean surface. The ocean surface characteristics are given to be introducing in the scattering method. Then, the validity and robustness of each method are studied for...
A scientific coordination group devoted to intelligent transportation systems has been set up in the Brittany region, called GIS ITS Bretagne. The focus of this paper is on the LoCoSS project, one of the two first projects launched by the GIS, which aims at improving the efficiency and safety of terrestrial and maritime rescue operations through the use of geo-localization and wireless communication...
A three-dimensional "full-polarized" model for arbitrary transmitter, receiver and target motions in bistatic synthetic aperture radar configurations is proposed. Qualitative validation of this model is presented through comparison with existing results and quantitative validation is obtained from proposed general analytical resolution equations. To take into account complex targets, geometric...
