The commercially available ferrocene-based diphosphine ligand (S c ,S Fc )-TaniaPhos was found to be highly effective in the Rh-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of 3-aryl-2-(phosphonomethyl)propenates. Excellent enantioselectivity (90–98% ee) and high catalytic activity (S/C up to 1000) have been achieved, which represents the best results reported so far.
A series of new chiral phosphine–aminophosphine ligands have been prepared via a two- or three-step transformation from commercially available and inexpensive (S)-1-phenylethylamine, and successfully used in the rhodium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation of various enamides, β-dehydroamino acid esters, and dimethyl itaconate. The results show that the ligand structure plays an important influence...
