In this paper, a new control method of ESS for smoothing wind farm output is proposed, in which a PWM based DC-DC converter is not used and ESS is connected directly to the DC bus circuit of wind farm. This system can simplify overall control scheme and improve the efficiency of the wind farm considerably.
This paper presents a method to calculate various losses in wind turbine generation system (WTGS) as a function of wind speed, which is based on the steady state analysis. Variable speed WTGS using a doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) and power converters (inverter and converter) is mainly considered in this paper. By using the proposed method, wind turbine power, generated power, generator losses,...
This paper presents a combination system of wind energy conversion and hydrogen production. Hydrogen is expected as alternative energy sources in the future, and it is the best way to produce it from renewable energy like wind energy. On the other hand, the output of a wind generator, in general, fluctuates greatly due to wind speed variations, and thus the output fluctuations can have a..serious...
Doubly fed generators have been used as adjustable-speed pumped-storage generator motors and wind turbine generators. Accurate determination of field currents and reactances is important for the design of these machines. We propose a calculation method to obtain the field currents and reactances of machines with rotor duct pieces under any steady-state balanced load condition. The method links two-dimensional...
Accurate determination of field currents and reactances is important for design of doubly fed induction generators for wind turbines. An analysis method using finite elements for the saturated reactances and field currents at any balanced steady-state conditions of the generators has been developed, dq-axis equations with cross magnetization are shown and all the reactances in them are calculated...
