This paper presents person identification algorithm based on 3D hand geometry. The algorithm comprises the following phases of 3D hand scan processing: segmentation, feature extraction and comparison, which the authors explain in detail in the paper. The authors present results of algorithm performance tested on publicly available DMCSv1 database which contains 1400 samples of 3D hand scans of left...
The aim of this paper is to present the data acquisition system built for the Multimodal Biometric System for Contactless Persons Identification. The system is capable of capturing 3D scans of face and hand. The hardware and software architecture of the acquisition system designed by the authors is described. The authors describe in detail the system calibration algorithm and present sample results.
This paper presents the DMCSv1 multimodal bio-metric database collected by the authors. The database contains 3D face and hand scans acquired using the structured light technology. In parallel with this paper publication the DMCSv1 database is made publicly available for other research institutions. According to the authors' knowledge it is the first publicly available database where a hand was scanned...
