We present experimental and simulation studies of STI type DeNMOS devices under ESD conditions. The impact of base-push-out, power dissipation because of space charge build-up and, regenerative NPN action, on the various phases of filamentation and the final thermal runaway is discussed. A modification of the device layout is proposed to achieve an improvement (~2X) in failure threshold (IT2).
This paper focuses on developing a passive in-line monitoring (PIM) device prototype, which used to tap out a small ratio of triple-play signals for in-service monitoring and failure identifying against fiber fault in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) access network. This device will be installed with the main lines in FTTH permanently to allow the technicians to simply connect it to a portable tester unit...
Classic reliability analysis techniques, namely, reliability prediction, fault tree analysis (FTA) and failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) are the framework for the aircraft certification process. These innovative technique have been utilized since the 1990s with the advent of the society of automotive engineer's aerospace recommended practice 4761 (SAE ARP 4761). Today, SAE ARP 4761 is the defacto...
In this paper we propose thermal aware global routing of interconnects which reduces the probability of failure of chips due to interconnect failures. Temperature has a very serious effect on the mean time to failure (MTF) of interconnects because of electromigration. We present TAGORE, a thermal aware global router. TAGORE achieves a reduction in the probability of failure by routing more wires in...
