Poly-(1,4-phenylene sulphide) was prepared through the oxidative polymerization of diphenyl disulphide in the presence of superacid AlCl 3 -FeCl 3 . The dependence of reaction yield on temperature and catalyst amount was determined. The resultant polymer was characterized by elemental analysis, NMR and IR spectroscopy.
