Confidentiality is one of the most nontrivial issues in secrecy of group communication. In order to satisfy confidentiality, symmetric cryptography must be exploited. All symmetric algorithms require a shared key between the members of group. High frequency in the number of joins and leaves of members can cause huge number of messages of data between authorized group members. Although hierarchical...
Today, grid computing has become an important component in distributed computing and has lead to rapid advances in many disciplines. Consequently, many novel methods and applications have been proposed for trace analysis in grid systems to better facilitate users' need for grid computing. In this survey, we investigate recent advances in grid trace analysis; discuss advantages and limitations of these...
The grid computing environment is proposed as a way to enhance the efficiency of the underlying system by maximizing utilization of distributed resources. Dynamic resource allocation algorithms are used to dynamically allocate suitable resources to users' tasks. The efficiency of these algorithms is then vital for both the usability of the grid system and fulfilling its objective. In this paper, we...
The scope of grid computing has, in the last few years, been broadened to include mobile and pervasive devices. Pervasive grid promises access to grid environment from diverse devices and end-systems, leading to the paradigm of anywhere, anytime and anyhow access. Providing multi-target user interface access to the grid would therefore, become a challenge. In this paper, we present a custom-made approach...
Traditional mechanical design process faces three major challenges: (1) the need for rapid and repeated numerous time-consuming simulations, such as finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics; (2) the need for dataset management; (3) the lack of an integrated and easy-to-use collaborative mechanical design environment. This paper presents a grid-enabled solution for mechanical engineering...
Electromagnetic simulation continues to be the primary method by which engineers and researchers analyze and design circuits and systems. Nowadays, the complexification related to the rise of microwaves circuits results in the coexistence of several scales in the same circuit and in the appearance of important dimensions ratios. As the dimensions of modern Electromagnetic circuits continue to shrink,...
In this paper we investigate the pricing of resources in dynamic grids that are modeled as computational commodity markets. Price determination based on achieving supply-and-demand equilibrium has been shown to work for small grids with a static fabric. Using simulations, we show that this approach can be extended to grids with a large number (thousands) of resources and to grids with a dynamic fabric.
The ever changing demands on computational resources has information systems managers looking for solutions that are more flexible. Using a ldquobigger boxrdquo that has more and faster processors and permanent storage or more random access memory (RAM) is not a viable solution as the system usage patterns vary. In order for a system to handle the peak load adequately, it will go underutilized much...
In this paper, we present an architecture of ontology-based distributed simulation on grid (ODSG) which facilitates life-cycle management of large-scale distributed interactive simulation on the grid computing environment. The architecture aims at some further solved key technologies for M&S (model and simulation) and new simulation pattern on open, complex, large-scale distributed grid environment...
